HT-1422 DEEP YELLOW ALL PURPOSE

UNITED’S # HT 1422 ALLOY is designed for 18 K yellow gold casting & minor hand working, which produces a Deep Yellow color (European 4N color).

MELTING We do recommend pre-alloying all alloy and fine gold with aggressive stirring & fluxing to assure a uniform mixture.

Step : 1 Pre- Alloying (Fine gold + alloy) Temperature 1050° – 1070° C

1922° – 1958° F

Step : 2 Casting Temperature for 18 K Alloyed Grain 1000° C / 1832° F

United # HT 1422 Alloy is formulated for 18 Karat Deep Yellow Gold sheet, plate and wire fabrication giving a Deep Yellow color (European 4N color). This Alloy can also be used for Investment Casting if desired.

MELTING The # HT 1422 Alloy, and fine gold should be melted together in a clean crucible. Put alloy in the bottom of the crucible and fine gold on top. Initial melting temperature should be 1070º C / 1958º F. Drop temperature somewhat before pouring as listed below. Boric acid flux may be used to keep the metal clean during the melting process. The metal should be mixed well with a stirring rod before pouring to assure a good mix.

POURING TEMP 18 K – 1010º C – 1020º C

FOR INGOTS 1850º F – 1868º F
