HT-1537 STANDARD YELLOW ALL PURPOSE
UNITED’S # HT-1537 ALLOY is designed for 9K-14K & 19K – 23 K yellow gold casting& fabrication, which produces a Reddish-Yellow color. This alloy is not recommended for 18 karat usage.
MELTING We do recommend pre-alloying all alloy and fine gold with aggressive stirring & fluxing to assure a uniform mixture.
Step : 1 Pre- Alloying (Fine gold + alloy) Temperature 1050° – 1100° C
1922° – 2012° F
Step : 2 Casting Temperature for 9K-14K Alloyed Grain 971° – 990° C
1780° – 1815° F
Casting Temperature for 19K-23K Alloyed Grain 1100° – 1120° C
2012° – 2048° F
FLASK TEMPERATURE For Vacuum casting 676° – 730° C
Use higher range for 19K-23K 1250° – 1350° F
For Centrifugal casting 565° – 730° C
Use higher range for 19K-23K 1050° – 1350° F
United # HT-1537 alloy is formulated for 9K – 14K & 19K to 22 K sheet, plate & wire fabrication giving a DARK Yellow color. Alloy # HT-1537 can be used for casting also. This Alloy is not recommended for 18 Karat.
MELTING The # HT-1537 DARK Yellow Alloy and fine gold should be melted together in a clean crucible. Put alloy in the bottom of the crucible and fine gold on top. Initial melting temperature should be 950º C – 980º C for 9K – 14K or
1100º – 1120º C for 19K – 22K. Drop temperature somewhat before pouring as listed below. Boric acid flux may be used to keep the metal clean during the melting process. The metal should be mixed well with a stirring rod before pouring to assure a good mix.
POURING TEMP 9K – 14 K – 950º C – 980º C (1742º F- 1796º F)
FOR INGOTS
19 K – 22K – 1100º – 1110º C (2012º F – 2030º F)
